About Us

The Climate and Clean Energy Equity Fund is a leader in climate philanthropy with expertise advancing structural policy change and a proven model for building power and advancing community-driven priorities for climate action and clean energy transition.


The Equity Fund invests in the leadership of community-organizing groups in diverse communities (Black, Indigenous, Latinx, APPI and other communities) with catalytic and sustained funding, capacity building and technical assistance to lead organizing, civic engagement, advocacy, voter participation and communications strategies that advance equitable climate action and clean energy solutions.

The Equity Fund was founded in 2016.

Our Work

With a core portfolio of 13 states, the Equity Fund supports community-based organizations in rural, urban, and suburban geographies. Our grantmaking powers many of the most effective community-based civic engagement, grassroots organizing and voter participation programs for climate and clean energy solutions. The Equity Fund’s Policy Accelerator provides policy coaching, rapid-response policy research, and technical assistance on climate and clean energy policy campaigns. The Communications Accelerator, supports grantee partners to develop strategic communications capacity and provides technical assistance to combat targeted fossil fuel disinformation and accelerate the pace and scale of community-driven change.
